I'm in love with the coco.

Maturus Palatus - noun

The final stage of maturity for one's palate whereby tastes once considered 'disgusting, awful or too adult' are now held in high esteem.

Red wine, flat whites, dark chocolate.

Mast Brothers Chocolate to be precise.

Adulthood. It's so....

Jonathan Horowitz - 304.8cm paintings

Guess who's back. Back again.

Whoops. My mistake, wrong celeb.

I could make more pertinent lyrical references but I'll leave that to your own creative little minds.

Snap back to reality (there I go again) and this pop-cultured piece belongs to native New Yorker and contemporary media artist Jonathan Horowitz.
Just as Marilyn was to Warhol well over sixty years ago; Beyonce has found herself ascending to a similar height of diptych fame

Part of the 304.8cm instillation currently on exhibition at what is fast becoming one of my favourite London haunts - the Sadie Coles HQ gallery; snake your way into the main gallery and you too can bow down to a multitude of Bey's 10ft face.

Then again, nothing beats my first trip to the Sadie HQ. A room filled with animated body parts courtesy of Angus Fairhurst, dating from 1995 - 2001, respectivly.

Little left to the imagination..

And so as the law of Universal Balance states...

If you are so much as to pilfer a bag of Brazil nuts whilst intoxicated, then the Universe will rob you of a Comme des Garçon classic right at the scene of the very same crime.

Carelessness and cosmic principality have resulted in an unwelcome awakening to my current state of 'Stale-bag Syndrome'. Whilst some lucky Central-liner is about to have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year with their new found goods; I have come to the conclusion that my arm could do with some sweeter tasting candy.

Small Tan | Shearling Large | Black Strap

But at a time when the high-street is in an annual state of consumer overload and Polyvore has become known as Poly-so-unhelpful; what else can a bag-less lady do but turn to social media for a little Depop-ing and InstaShopping?

London-based but appearing on news feeds the world over; Ante Memoria is a label new to the scene only just this year but is already expectant to become a well known name amongst minimalist aficionados.

Brainchild of London College of Fashion MA student and 'one to watch' Jessica Wakeman; the brand produces a line of ready-to-wear, simple but beautifully hand crafted clutch bags, that not only look good with your everyday wardrobe but I'm guessing even better strategically placed next to a soya mocha.

Nothing wrong with that...

Promising myself never to be so negligent with my belongings ever again; my order for the small shearling Open Ceremony-esk number arrived with its very own message of thanks and a slightly subliminal 'drink responsibly'.

Ganni Pop-Up - Redchurch St. Shoreditch

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.

It also brings a month of barely get-bys and "we'll have to organise something for after (next) payday" - but at least you'll be looking somewhat Scandi-lously well dressed.

Don't worry. There hasn't been any holes burnt through anyone's pocket just yet.

Obsessive Compulsive Scandinavian Disorder.

They say the first step to getting better is by admitting you have a problem.
I believe the first step is through the door at Danish label Ganni's new pop-up store in Shoreditch this August.

London, you're doing anything but trying to help with this psychological state of mind.

The Cut-Outs.

Thakoon Panichgul Resort 2015

The dilettante population of London are experiencing something of a 'Matisse binge' at the moment and I am heedless to say that yes... me included.

The artisan bug has sunk its urbane teeth so far into my amateur behind that it's becoming unrecognisable.
An evening of voluntary seclusion (1 month and every surrounding tourist becomes nothing a but simple hum in the background) spent ogling over Henri's greats? Yes please.

And then, what's a feast for the eyes if you can't treat your wardrobe to the same goodies?

With an already dendritic infatuation to design, as well as penchant for cutting out clean lines and an altogether feel for weightlessness; Thakoon Panichgul's Resort 2015 collection dexterously covers references to the former French artiste, specifically towards Matisse's most notable works - cutouts.

Evidenced as anything but overt throughout Panichgul's use of movement and Pantone adoption; the artistic aesthetic continues to transpire in the 'beatnik striped' two piece and craft-club knife pleats. Overall, the collection is a sure, subtle but ingenious nod to artisanship and feminine simplicity.

Although when you've got cruise collection taste and stay-at-home money; trips to the Tate's gift shop for a quick fix will for now, have to suffice.

Exhibit - 'Horst: Photographer of Style'

5.02.2014

'Corset' by Detolle for Mainbocher

Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, repeat.

Sound familiar? Oh, I almost forgot... Instagram, Instagram, Instagram.

Now don't take this the wrong way; my long-term relationship with social media is fabulous!
We've ALWAYS liked each other and spend every waking moment together (literally), it's just that every now and again I can feel my mind's intellect slowly slipping, doomed to forever be replaced by a trendy little app (iBrain? You saw it here first...)

Urgh. Someone give her a book!

Acting fast before my brain truly turns into 21st century mush; I think a good old dose of something culturally  stimulating is becoming long overdue and by that I mean it's time to get lost in the chicest depths of London's V&A museum this September.

(iPhone calendars open?)

Come September 6th, the capital's Vicky and Albert will swing open the doors to its latest exhibition 'Horst: Photographer of Style' featuring the complete body of work, plus an extra 250 exclusive photos, by the late German and fashion photography's greatest ever happy snapper - Horst P. Horst.

"Horst... produced some of the most famous and evocative images of the 20th century. This exhibition will shine a light on all aspects of his long and distinguished career"
Martin Roth. Director, V&A

Showcasing works from a sixty-year strong career in the fashion biz; the collection includes haute couture pieces, film footage, private sketches and all ninety of those covers for Vogue magazine.

And if that wasn't enough to enlighten your sartorial mindset, the exhibition also aims to delve into the creative process behind some of Horst's most famous images.

Social what now? See, there's no better remedy for absent mindedness than sophisticated education.

So that's May, June, July, August.. not that I'm wanting to wish anyone's life away....

The ideal show in an ideal setting. Did I forget to mention that the in-house café also do the most delectable almond croissant?

| The exhibition will run through to January 4th 2015 |
